The small village of Crianlarich can be found in the district of Stirling in Scotland. The village is situated approximately six miles north-east of the head of the famous and picturesque Loch Lomond.

Up until 1975 the small town of Crianlarich, with a population of about 200, was situated in the historic county of Perthshire. The locality gets its name from the Gaelic words which mean ‘low pass’, which refers to its geographical location. Even though it is so small, the historical village has its own railway station.

Since medieval times, the community has been a major crossroads for northbound and westbound travellers in Scotland. In the 18th century, two military roads crossed paths in the hamlet and in the 19th century it was known as a popular railway junction. Later, in the 20th century, the busy A82 and A85 roads also met there.

Most websites have thousands of choices and they all say they are great and as many of us have experienced they may claim to be better than they are. The Dalmunzie Golf Course in Perthshire. A lovely nine holer set in the hills in northern Perthshire attached to a lovely little hotel. I had lunch in the hotel and played the course. Wonderful views, a nice challanging short course and good service.
