Discovering The Village Of Crianlarich, Scotland

The small village of Crianlarich can be found in the district of Stirling in Scotland. The village is situated approximately six miles north-east of the head of the famous and picturesque Loch Lomond.

Up until 1975 the small town of Crianlarich, with a population of about 200, was situated in the historic county of Perthshire. The locality gets its name from the Gaelic words which mean ‘low pass’, which refers to its geographical location. Even though it is so small, the historical village has its own railway station.

Since medieval times, the community has been a major crossroads for northbound and westbound travellers in Scotland. In the 18th century, two military roads crossed paths in the hamlet and in the 19th century it was known as a popular railway junction. Later, in the 20th century, the busy A82 and A85 roads also met there.

FUN things to do in Glasgow!?

I am traveling to Glasgow, Scotland for a weekend with my brother. We will be there for 3 full days and want to have a lot of fun. What are some things that one HAS to do when in Glasgow. I am the outdoorsy type and would love to hike and see some scenic places. I have read Loch Lomond is a really cool place? What about other places?

Answer by Scotland’s FinestGlasgow is best known for shopping. Silverburn, Braehead, Buchanan Galleries….we get folk visiting just for the shops.

Otherwise Loch Lomond is good. Maybe rent a bike and follow some of the cycle tracks.

When Simon was ten his father married an Irish women and suddenly Simon had an Irish sister. When Simon was twenty four he graduated as a lawyer and took a job in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is now sixty six. Why can he not be buried on the banks of Loch Lomond in his favourite village of Luss, in Bonnie Scotland?
