Anyone had doubts about there wedding venue once its booked?

Question by Tootsie: Anyone had doubts about there wedding venue once its booked?
So me and my fiance have eventually set a date for our wedding, may 2010. Found it difficult to decide on where to be married as everywhere is sooo expensive! Eventually decided on a place called Piperdam (www.piperdam.com) the first venue we agreed on. We paid the deposit to make the booking but since then i cant help looking at other venues and thinking they look better!! I had originally wanted my dream wedding of a castle in scotland, beautiful gardens, exclusive use, but we dont and our parents dont have £20k to have such a grand day. Piperdam is still gonna cost us too, its not cheap but is very picturesque like i wanted. I want my guests to be like “wow”, im a bit of a show off and want to impress. Part of me is being realistic and is just excited about being married to the . . . → Read More: Anyone had doubts about there wedding venue once its booked?

Can you please help me plan our itinery on a U.K. trip in August?

Question by mike m: Can you please help me plan our itinery on a U.K. trip in August?
My wife and I are visiting the U.K. for the first time from Australia. We will be there from late August for 6 weeks. We fly in and out of Manchester. Will hire a car and drive to the Lakes District for a 1 week’s stay with friends. After that, we need help. We want to spend a week in Scotland, 2 weeks in Ireland and the rest in southern England and Wales, and only want to spend 3 days in London. All ideas welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

Where in the UK?

Question by Kat Woman: Where in the UK?
My fiance and I have decided to get married abroad in UK (I love England, Ireland and Scotland) But truth to told we haven’t thought this out thoroughly yet. We know only this we will be paying for our guests flight, hotel stay, and rental car (we have worked out figures for each), but which major city should we have them stay. The wedding will be outside of the city probably about an hour unless we can find something suitable (we are thinking a nice castle for a small wedding) closer. Our options are

Edinburgh
Dublin
Glasgow
London

If you are American, where would you like to visit most?
If you are from the UK which is the best city as far as having something to do for 6 days?

Best answer:

Answer by MBI’m American and I would have to go with London, simply because it seems to hold a lot more notoriety than the other choices.
